Huxter is an Australian-made natural bath and body brand, owned and operated by a female solopreneur. While primarily focused on wholesale operations, supplying Australian gift retailers, the business also maintains a growing eCommerce channel and distributes overseas.
Business Challenge
Stagnant Sales Growth, Limited Resources, and Outdated Website
Following a recent business restructuring and reduced headcount during the pandemic, the owner was overwhelmed with the day-to-day operations to meet the steady demand for her products. Recognising the need for additional support and strategic guidance to gain clarity, drive the business forward, and alleviate her workload, she sought an in-house marketing consultant and sales advisor to streamline digital marketing and improve the online brand strategy.

Engaged to work in-house, we developed a comprehensive 12-month action plan addressing the most pressing business challenges. This involved conducting an in-depth analysis of the available data to make informed decisions and identify growth opportunities.
We implemented:
- a framework to audit the sales channels and marketing efforts
- streamlined the fragmented and ad hoc marketing approach
- executed a website redesign to a new theme to improve the UX and serch functionality
- migrated to Klaviyo for email subscriber flow nurturing and review functionality

By gaining a clearer understanding of the revenue streams and setting targets with the sales team, we achieved a 6% year-over-year growth in the wholesale side of the business. Updating the website from dated, confusing and clunky to clear, modern, and user-friendly yielded significant year-on-year improvements, including:
- 32% growth in gross sales
- 36% increase in online sessions
- 18% increase in total orders
- 9% average order value increase
This growth gave her the confidence and capacity to hire additional staff at the head office and focus on creating the next growth phase in her business. With our support, this client went on to have the confidence to launch in the UK and develop a new brand for a major retailer, launching Christmas 2024. She has also refined her Huxter product range and brand message to recently see the best results from a wholesale tradefair in the last few years. Her growth trajectory is very firmly set on an upward path.
